GC Drive
I designed a secure file sharing and document management platform that centralizes Guy Carpenter's existing chaotic file ecosystem. The new system makes it easier for GC's teams to securely exchange large files with colleagues, clients, and reinsurers while maintaining enterprise-level security and compliance.

Overview
The GC Drive project focused on creating a comprehensive file sharing and document management platform that solves Guy Carpenter's current file storage challenges. Working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, I led the design effort to create a comprehensive suite with three key areas: Workspaces for secure collaboration, Docs for centralized document management, and Archives for long-term storage. Building this solution from the ground up required designing over 50 screens that established a completely new way for GC to handle file exchanges with internal teams, external clients, and reinsurers while supporting large files exceeding 100 GB and maintaining enterprise security standards.
Problem
Guy Carpenter had no centralized file sharing solution, forcing teams to rely on a fragmented mix of OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint for document storage and collaboration. This created chaos for employees trying to locate important files or securely share large documents with external clients and reinsurers, with no proper version control, security protocols, or organized system for managing sensitive business documents across the organization.
Solution
I designed GC Drive as a centralized system that brings all file sharing and document management under one secure solution. My design approach focused on three distinct areas that work seamlessly together: Workspaces enable secure collaboration and large file exchanges with internal teams and external partners, Docs provides structured document management with powerful search and version control capabilities, and Archives ensures compliant long-term storage for inactive documents. The solution delivers enterprise-level security through malware scanning, multi-factor authentication, and detailed access controls. It also offers mobile responsive design that integrates smoothly with existing GC systems.
OUTCOME
The GC Drive project successfully created a complete platform design that centralizes all of Guy Carpenter's file sharing and document management needs. The platform is now live in production and actively adopted by GC's teams, enabling secure file exchanges with clients and reinsurers while providing centralized document organization that was previously impossible. The platform's success has led Guy Carpenter's leadership team to explore expanding GC Drive into a global MMC Drive solution for the broader Marsh McLennan organization, recognizing its potential as an enterprise-wide file sharing standard. The platform design, including 50+ screens across three key areas, establishes the foundation for GC's teams to collaborate more efficiently while maintaining enterprise security standards and compliance requirements.
